We saw the 3D version of Up yesterday. It’s a story of an old balloon salesman who chases his dream of having the adventure of his life when he ties thousands of balloons to his house and flies away.
I couldn’t really relate much with the sentiments of the old man. I’m sure Blue couldn’t either. Maybe I expected a touching movie that would make me cry. Perhaps I’m just too happy that it barely tipped my tear-jerk meter. It was a warm, feel-good movie though. Over all, there were a lot of laughs. The dogs were hilarious. Donning our 3D glasses was an extra treat as well.
What’s nice to note is that the movie’s production designer is actually a Filipino. Ricky Nierva was placed in charge of the movie’s entire visual look. Up was a box office hit that earned $250 million in the US alone. Now, isn’t that something to brag about? Hats off to Filipino artists and animators!
